“To make the ER more patient-friendly, Reston Hospital Center has devised a text-messaging service that tells you how long the wait will probably be. People can text “ER” to the number 23000 and receive a reply with the most up-to-date wait time.”

Okay I think this is kinda cool, however what if the short wait time ER is not the one your insurance wants you to use? Oh yeah I forgot, I don’t have that kind of insurance (and neither do most people anymore).  I think this is a great innovative use of technology and I also think its an indication that folks are using the ER more than ever as their “primary service provider”.
